Uchuudenpa is my personal website that serves as my HQ to rest in-between doing whatever it is on the internet. It’ll contain my ramblings on just about anything, and a showcase of my creative and (highly) botched technical endeavors.
Uchuudenpa is Japanese for "Cosmic Radio Waves."
宇宙 (uchuu: space/cosmos)
電波 (denpa: radio waves/slang for "saying strange things")
With that, you can infer what kind of things you will read from this website.
I’m a Tokyo-based salaryman & weeb. I moved to Japan in 2016 on a full scholarship for a degree in global business.
I go by Shibs for “Shibs a Bust.” You can guess how I feel about Shibuya from here.
My dream is to be able to claim the title of “The Gaijin King of Akiba”
Current steps on the pipeline towards this: Obtain PR → Move to Akiba → TBD
My full-time work is at a Japanese fintech venture doing business development. It’s probably the most un-Japanese Japanese company ever.
On the side, I ██████████ █ █████ ██████ ███████. Basically, I am kinda like Booker DeWitt.
All-around weeb in my free time that drives or backpacks around Japan on holy pilgrimages to places from otaku media. If you ever need a guide/fixer, just contact me. I accept payments in Yokohama OR Hakata-style ramen. Pre-covid, you’d have been able to catch me around Shibs or Ropo. (RIP A-Life. I was the one that ripped off the first floor restroom toilet seat before you shut down for good!) Nowadays if I’m not at Akiba, getting lost in the inaka, or at work, I’m probably at home playing some VNs.
I'm into technology (computers, FOSS, Thinkpads), film photography, adventure, literature (e.g. Dostoevsky, Salinger), fitness (weightlifting), outdoors (hiking), driving, otaku holy pilgrimages, watches (mechanical and cheap Casios), anime, Idolm@ster, & visual novels.
